What Happens When We Start Working Together

The first couple of sessions are about getting the full picture, a little paperwork, a lot of me asking questions about your relationship's history, what's been hard lately, and what you're each hoping changes. From there we build a plan together. The goals you start with might shift once we're in it, and that's expected, not a sign anything's off track.

A typical session isn't about assigning blame or picking a side. We look at the patterns playing out between you, what's driving the same argument on repeat, and we try on different ways of hearing each other. Some sessions are about a specific conflict, others circle back to something deeper that keeps resurfacing. Both are part of the work.

I'm more interested in what's happening between you than in labeling the relationship as "broken" or "healthy." We focus on the patterns, not a diagnosis.

My approach pulls from a few different places depending on what the two of you need: person-centered and supportive work, CBT-style problem solving, skills coaching, reframing, relational and attachment-focused work, strengths-based and resilience work, boundary-setting, and somatic and regulation coaching.
